As we near the end of the school year (literally 2 more days left) I just wanted to reflect back on my first year as a university student. *be prepared to yawn*

I chose to major in the science field of psychology which I absolutely love, and me being the nerd that I am I wanted to continue taking math courses, so I applied for a minor in mathematics! My end goal has always been to make it to medical school and it is something I'm constantly reminded of (thanks mom and dad!). I truly cherish and value my education. Call me boring but I actually enjoy going to school and learning despite the stress it may bring on. I definitely struggled with some of my courses, because I didn't realize just how big the expectations were. At the end of the day, all that mattered is that I gave it my all and worked to my potential. Aside from that, I think the biggest battle for me was trying to fit in. I'm not too big on the whole partying scene which happens to be what most people tend to do for fun. Making friends was a lot harder than I expected it to be. It wasn't very easy for me to approach someone in a lecture with 200+ people and strike up a conversation. In fact, just thinking about it ignites my social anxiety. Hence, I stuck to the people I already knew. Luckily, the majority of my friends were close by and went to the same school as me.

This past year I began going to the gym a lot more often and incorporating physical activity into my everyday life. Sometimes it was hard to exercise every single day, but I definitely tried to do so as much as possible. Rugby has always been a great stress relieving sport and I knew I wanted to continue playing as much as possible which is why I joined a club team. Physical activity was definitely one of the things that kept me sane and allowed me to completely forget about my worries for the 1-2 hours I spent exercising.

My personal experience was not the typical movie depicted college life experience, but I know I definitely enjoyed my time.

If you made it to here then you deserve a huge round of applause and a pat on the back. You were probably thinking "wow this girl has no life," but believe it or not I enjoy studying, working out, and staying in over partying and socializing.

I wanted to put this out there as a milestone that has been achieved and a memory to look back on.
